I've lived in Madeira my whole life. I know where the levadas are flooded in March, which winemaker will actually sit down with you for an hour, and which viewpoints are worth the drive versus which are just car parks with a sign.

Funchal Tours started because I kept meeting travellers who'd done three group bus tours and missed almost everything that makes this island worth coming to.

I run private tours only. Your group, my vehicle, the places I'd take my own family. No commentary track, no fixed script — I talk when there's something worth saying.

About the pricing

Tours are priced per group, not per person. Divide by your group size to see what it actually costs — a full-day Mountain Interior tour for four people works out to €120/person. For a private day with a guide who knows the island, that's fair.
